Community Abstract Mentoring Program – EXTENDED

We are happy to announce that the deadline for abstract submissions to the Community Abstract Mentoring Program (CAMP) has been extended through FEBRUARY 12, 2012.*  If you would like to submit an abstract for mentoring, go to www.abstractassistance.org and click on ‘Register’ to begin the submission process.  As appropriate, please share with colleagues and community partners.

 * Please note that an abstract submission to CAMP is not an official submission for acceptance to XIX International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2012). Deadline for abstract submissions to the conference is February 15, 2012 (For more information, please go to www.AIDS2012.org).

About CAMP

The National Latino AIDS Action Network (NLAAN), with support by several partner organizations and the Office of AIDS Research (OAR) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), developed the Community Abstract Mentoring Program (CAMP).  CAMP is an online abstract mentoring program with the goal of encouraging individuals within communities of color to submit high-quality abstracts for acceptance at the XIX International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2012).  CAMP Mentors are community leaders and content experts who participated in an intense abstract training program facilitated by the International AIDS Society (IAS).

This program provides abstract writing assistance to individuals working in communities of color throughout the United States, which include, but are not limited to, African American, Latino/Hispanic, Native American/Alaska Native, and Asian/Pacific Islander communities.

Through this online abstract mentoring system, individuals have an opportunity to receive feedback by an abstract mentor to improve the quality of the abstracts and thus increase the chance of their abstracts being accepted to the conference.
