Health and Safety Policies affecting Migrant Farmworkers

in: Events

Farmworker Justice’s “Eye on Farmworker Health” is an elecrtonic newsletter that covers important recent developments in research and policy issues affecting the health and safety of migrant farmworkers. This edition includes research papers on barriers and misperceptions of the HPV vaccine among Latina farmworkers, the role of promotoras de salud in cervical cancer education, and the connection between depression and sleepiness and risk for occupational accidents. We also discuss the proposed regulations to protect child agricultural workers and provide fact sheets on the EPA’s Worker Protection Standard,OSHA’s Field Sanitation Standard, and other federal safety regulations related to farmworkers.
