Voices of Immigrants In Action
The VIA Initiative (Voices of Immigrants in Action) was created to bring together the grassroots’ voices of Hispanic Immigrants into a communal force. This initiative will provide a platform for their unique realities, broadening the regional policy discussions of HIV/AIDS.
The VIA Blog will serve as a forum for the initiative’s trends, discussions and recommendations. This site is open to health providers, grassroots groups, policy makers, funders and those interested in immigration, health, HIV/AIDS and culture.
The VIA Initiative is a project of the Rural Women’s Health Project The RWHP, for 18 years, has used innovative approaches to building health literacy and increasing access to both health care services and preventive behaviors in Hispanic immigrant communities.
The VIA Initiative is a partnership with Rural Medical Services, Inc., (Tennessee) and in Florida with Alianza de Mujeres Activas (AMA) and the North Central Florida Farmworker Corridor (NFCFC) Taskforce. This project is supported by: National AIDS Fund-Southern REACH/Gulf Coast HIV/AIDS Relief Fund with funds from the Ford Foundation and AIDS.gov.

Voces de Inmigrantes en Acción
La Iniciativa VIA (Voces de Inmigrantes en Acción) fue creada para unir las voces de la base de Inmigrantes Hispanos en una fuerza comunal. Esta iniciativa proveerá una plataforma para sus realidades específicas, engrandeciendo las discusiones regionales sobre las políticas de VIH/SIDA.
El VIA Blog será un foro para presentar las tendencias claves, discusiones y recomendaciones encontradas durante el proyecto. Este sitio Web esta abierto para proveedores de salud, organizaciones de base, diseñadores de políticas, patrocinadores y todos los demás interesadas en inmigración, salud, VIH/SIDA y cultura.
La Iniciativa VIA es un proyecto de Rural Women’s Health Project [RWHP]. Durante 18 años, RWHP ha usado técnicas innovadores para construir el alfabetismo de salud y el incremento en el acceso a servicios de salud y la promoción de practicas preventivas dentro de la comunidad Hispana inmigrante.
